Timegrip delivers accurate data for Strawberry

 

"As you grow, accurate data becomes essential," says Jørgen Holst, who is responsible for Timegrip (formerly TimePlan) at Strawberry.

 

He is currently working on two IT projects across the chain's 200 hotels in the Nordic countries, where Timegrip plays a crucial role in data collection, system integration, and performance management.

 

"One of my favourite features in Timegrip is the data collection and everything we can do with the data," says Jørgen Holst, People & Culture Manager at Strawberry.

 

The Nordic hotel chain has been using Timegrip for workforce management since 2013 and has recently implemented the PMI forecasting system, which, through fresh data from Timegrip, provides department managers with an accurate overview of their department's performance.

 

 

The cockpit turns red

 

"The forecasting system is vital for our hotels because we host large banquets, and an F&B manager can easily use 1,000 hours a day."

 

If a department exceeds the planned working hours, the cockpit in the PMI system turns red. If the department follows the plan, the light remains green.

 

"We don’t have to wait for quarterly reports to determine whether we are under or over budget. We can see it immediately, thanks to the recorded working hours from Timegrip," says Jørgen Holst.

 

Strawberry is expanding and has spent time creating databases of customers and suppliers. Now, the focus is on the chain's more than 14,000 employees in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland.

 

"When we hire a new employee, he or she is 'born' into our database. From there, we transfer them to Timegrip, where we can assign them shifts and send their recorded working hours for payroll processing. That is why the integration between Timegrip and our other IT systems is crucial," says Jørgen Holst.

Jørgen Holst adds that before implementing Timegrip, Strawberry did not necessarily know how many employees a hotel or the entire chain had.
