BCS and Timegrip Join Forces to Create a Pan-European HCM and Payroll Software Platform
[PRESS RELEASE] The Hague, 3 June 2026 – BCS HR Software ("BCS") today announces its strategic acquisition of Timegrip, creating a pan-European platform for HCM, payroll and workforce management software with strong market positions across the Benelux, Nordic and DACH regions. Together, the companies will deliver an integrated platform covering the entire employee lifecycle while accelerating their international expansion across Europe. The transaction marks the third strategic combination supported by Main Capital Partners ("Main") in recent weeks and further underlines its strategy of building stronger software groups through the combination of complementary international software businesses.
BCS is a Netherlands-based provider of HR and payroll software serving small and medium-sized businesses, large enterprises and the public sector. The company offers a comprehensive portfolio of solutions, including payroll administration, talent management, employee development, recruitment systems, absence management, employee benefits and employee self-service solutions. Today, BCS serves more than 3,600 customers and has established a strong position across the Benelux region, supported by a growing international presence in North-West Europe and a customer base that includes organisations such as Philips, Argenta, Schiphol Group, Ardo Foods and Heineken. Main has been a strategic partner to BCS since 2022.
Timegrip is a Nordic provider of workforce management and HR controlling solutions, serving more than 1,100 customers in over 30 countries with a strong presence in Denmark, Norway and Germany. The company primarily serves SMEs, mid-market and enterprise organisations across a wide range of industries, including retail, manufacturing, healthcare and hospitality. Timegrip’s solutions support staff scheduling, time tracking, compliance and employee cost management, helping organisations comply with legislation and collective bargaining agreement requirements.
The combination of BCS and Timegrip creates a pan-European Human Capital Management (HCM) and payroll software platform. By combining BCS’ core strengths in HR and payroll with Timegrip’s capabilities in workforce management and HR controlling, the group will deliver an integrated platform covering the entire employee lifecycle. Together, BCS and Timegrip form an organisation with revenues exceeding EUR 60 million and approximately 330 employees, headquartered in the Netherlands and serving customers across the Benelux, Nordic and DACH regions.
The combination creates significant cross-selling and upselling opportunities across the combined customer base while bringing together substantial investments in AI-driven product innovation across HR, payroll, workforce management and HR controlling. Furthermore, it provides a strong foundation for continued international expansion and the execution of an attractive buy-and-build strategy across Europe.
Joep Eijkens, CEO of BCS, commented: “Joining forces with Timegrip is an important step in our strategy to build a pan-European HCM and payroll software platform. Timegrip’s solutions are highly complementary to our existing product portfolio and further strengthen our ability to support customers throughout the entire employee lifecycle. Together, we are creating a broader and more integrated offering while significantly expanding our presence across the Benelux, Nordic and DACH regions.”
Rex Clausager, CEO of Timegrip, added: “We are excited to join forces with BCS and become part of a larger pan-European software platform. The strong strategic fit between our organisations, combined with our complementary product portfolios and geographic presence, creates a solid foundation for future growth. We look forward to leveraging the combined platform to deliver even greater value to customers across Europe.”
Charly Zwemstra, CEO of Main Capital and Chairman of BCS, concluded: “The combination of BCS and Timegrip represents an important milestone in building a pan-European HCM and payroll software platform. Together, the companies bring highly complementary product capabilities, customer bases and geographic footprints across the Benelux, Nordic and DACH regions. We have long believed that strategic business combinations are an effective way to build stronger software groups and accelerate value creation. The combination of BCS and Timegrip is another strong example of this strategy in action and marks the third strategic combination supported by Main in recent weeks. We look forward to supporting our management teams through the next phase of growth and international expansion.”
